Department of Education, SOFWeb - SOSE Curriculum Links
Start Here for most of the resources you may need for your SOSE program.

Global Classroom Project SofWeb have many excellent projects in the SOSE curriculum. On the main page click on GC projects, then choose Search for GC Projects in the Project Database, Click the Find all GC Projects Link or They are organised alphabetically, state the key learning area and year level. Just click on the one you are interested in.

 

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority has a few lesson samples for SOSE. You can also download the information technology in SOSE for your year level by clicking the Online link.
To access the SOSE material, click on the CSF button on the home page, then choose the SOSE CSF area.

Leading Practice Ideabank (SOFWeb)
The SOSE link contains leading practice lessons created by teachers. Lessons include the date published, an abstract, KLA, strand, outcomes. The lessons are quite detailed and include: student prerequisites, an abstract, resources and activities.

EDNA is a National Education Network you can search the database to find many useful resources. SOFWeb's Virtual Classroom has been created for students. There are three links - Kids Virtual Classroom where students can find resources for KLAs, a Teen Area and a link for VCE Students.

This site has many excellent education links.
Ed-Online provides links to Global Classroom projects | Exhibitions | Forums | Resources | You can register as a student or a teacher to have access to the ed-online community newsletters and forums, competitions and specific giveaways.
Click on the Resources link to see the wonderful projects the Museum has undertaken.

Museum of Victoria Images Of Australian Identity In The First World War These pages show a selection of images and objects from the First World War. The pages aim to raise issues about depictions of Australian identity during the First World War, for VCE Australian History students who are embarking upon Outcomes.

Environment The Environment Program has set up websites on minerals, spiders, crustaceans and on the European Wasp.
State Library of Victoria Multimedia Catalog you can view and order images in the collection. The Biggest Family Album in Australia The MoV have collected photographs of a range of human activities in Victoria's and Australia's past, dating from the 1870s to the 1950s. Here, you can access the database of over 9,000 photographs. Known as the Biggest Family Album in Australia, you can search it using a wide range of criteria including topic, concept, activity, place and date. A range of classroom activities, interactive online tasks and textual information have been developed to assist students and teachers in accessing the database. Activities have been designed to introduce primary and secondary students to the use of photographs as sources of information and understanding of the past. Photographs from the database are featured in these activities. You may choose to instruct students to discuss the photographs for their own research or complete activity sheets while working on line.
